Hi everybody! My name is Emily Cruz and I am an Honors College student and Biochemistry major with a minor in Neuroscience. My interests in pathophysiology and ambitions to provide accessible/evidence based medicine are a major part of my "why" for applying to medical school! My long-term goal is to specialize in pediatrics and neonatology. I have a profound connection and passion to our underserved communities and Nevada, and I am specifically driven by reducing the maternal mortality rate in marginalized communities and promoting outreach initiatives to educate families on prenatal and basic care. In my free time, I look forward to volunteering in the NICU, tending to houseplants, and coffee dates. I am so excited to be a part of AED's public health committee and work alongside our amazing chairs and officers to promote health equity and accessibility regardless of race, gender, and class.

Hi everyone! My name is Aisha Basher, and I’m currently majoring in public health and minoring in biology and finance. I hope to go to medical school to pursue my dream of being a doctor! During my free time, I love playing tennis and pickleball, learning new songs on the guitar, shopping, and going to concerts. I also love trying out new cafes around town! I am super excited to be part of the Public Health Committee and spread more knowledge regarding health disparities both within our community and abroad.
