Committees

The governing body for Alpha Epsilon Delta at UNLV. Hosts monthly meetings, books speaker presentations and networking events, plans Pre-Health Conference for Las Vegas high school students.

Works with Vitalant to organize and execute regular blood drives during the semester.

Works with the Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation to organize regular bone marrow drives during the semester.

Leads and organizes volunteers at the Healthy Smiles event. Partners with UNLV Dental Society for events related to Dentistry and the pre-Dental track.

Goes to local high schools across the Las Vegas valley to speak to students about what it takes to be a pre-health student, college in general, and how each individual is in control of their future.

Organizes fundraising events and acts as AED’s ambassadors to our fundraising partners.

Coordinates with the Heaven Can Wait Animal Society and organizes volunteers for the monthly clinic that spays and neuters cats and rabbits. Connects students who are pre-Veterinary track.

Leads and organizes our members at most of our volunteer events. At each volunteer event, officers serve as the AED Liaison for volunteer coordinators and track volunteer hours.

Works to find local physicians willing to take undergraduate shadows for varying lengths of time to provide AED members with invaluable experience for health-professional school.

Partners with Nevada Blind Foundation for volunteer events on a monthly basis, hosts eye-glass drives on UNLV’s campus, coordinates with Optometry schools to bring speakers for AED members.

Plans and runs traditional and MMI  format mock interviews for AED members to gain professional practice; hosts workshops on resume/CV building; plans medical humanities presentations; offers professional head-shots for members to use on applications

Plans and hosts socials with the Executive Board, works to provide services to members related to stress-management, physical and mental wellness, and academic support.

Works to provide resources, information, and opportunities for pre-pharmacy students and provide insight into other career paths for general members.

Coordinates large scale events such as Rebel for a Day and Physician Appreciation Night while providing relevant opportunities to AED members.

Promotes community health and wellness through prevention by educational workshops and student-led health initiatives.

Works with UNLV students to offer more engagement with research.

Works with members to develop study plans and holds content study sessions.
